At Sakuragaoka Cafe, customers can get up close and personal with Sakura and Chocolat, two goats
belonging to cafe owner Rena Kawaguchi.

Kawaguchi bought the animals three years ago, but only found success with them recently ? after she
starting taking them for daily walks throughout the city.

“Back then animal cafes were booming, places where you could play with cats or dogs,” Kawaguchi tells
Reuters. “But we reckoned a normal animal like that wouldn’t have the wow factor of a goat.”

Customers can pet the goats in their pen or book time to take them for walks.

I-Have your say
1. Animal cafes is becoming popular in Tokyo City. According to the cafe owners, it brings the
customer closer to nature. Have you visited one of those animal cafes?
2. Since Japans economic stagnation, about 180,000 restaurant workers have lost their jobs, and
hundreds of restaurants have closed down. To survive with slow business, owners should be more
creative
3. Japanese Restaurant Employs Masked Monkey Waiters Utsunomiya, North of Tokyo. It became
popular to Britons because the two monkey waiters can understand human words. Are there any
laws of animal labors that you know in Japan?
