In a daring moo-ve, a quick-thinking milkman has averted an udder disaster in inner Brisbane, dousing a fire with milk.

Shane Fuller was delivering milk about 4.40am (AEST) on Wednesday at Spring Hill when he saw a planter box on fire on the footpath.

‘The flames were about half-a-metre high – some of the mulch and palms were starting to burn,’ he told ABC Radio.

‘I just jumped in and made sure it couldn’t get any worse.’

‘I didn’t have any water so I just grabbed some bottles of milk and just drenched it.’

Mr Fuller never thought he’d have to put out a fire with milk, and said unfortunately some cafes would be short of milk this morning.

‘Normally I use water, but it had to be milk today, that’s all I had.’

1.Milk is an important part of our diet. You are never too old to reap the rewards of drinking milk. So, do you still drink milk?
2.Did you know??????
Camel’s milk helps control wrinkles and condition skin tone. It contains high levels of insulin and antibodies that are good for regulating diabetes and other diseases.
3.Cows are not the only critters that produce milk for consumption. In fact, the United States is the only country in which cow’s milk is more popular than milk from other mammals.
Are you aware of other sources of milk?
