A millionaire businessman has been charged with endangering the life of a child after allowing his nine-year-old son to drive his Ferrari. Indian police were alerted after a video was posted on the internet showing the boy at the wheel of the F430, with his younger brother in the passenger seat. The clip went viral on YouTube and caused an outrage across the country, causing officers to file charges.

The child’s father, Mohammed Nisham, turned himself in at a police station near the port city of Kochi. He was arrested on charges of endangering the life of a child and allowing a minor to drive, and was later released after posting bail of 5,000 rupees (?60). Police said Nisham, who has tobacco and property businesses, owns 18 cars worth an estimated ?2.6m.
