Tarahumara Indian tribe, renowned for their agility and bare foot running endurance, most of the kids grew up up competing in traditional rarajipari races on a rocky trail .But by the time some kids reach 18 years old, they were running an entirely different kind of race-hauling a 50-pound backpack of marijuana across the border into the New Mexico desert.

An American writer, Christopher McDougall authored a book about Tarahumara Indian tribe unique physical abilities. In his book ,”Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen made them famous. “When it comes to ultradistance” “nothing can beat a Tarahumara barefoot runner-not a racehorse, not a cheetah, not an Olympic marathoner. A Tarahumara Indian bare foot runner is able to run 435 miles.

According to law enforcers, Tarahumara Indians, drug traffickers are now exploiting the very Tarahumara trait-endurance-that has been crucial to their survival. Tarahumaras’ aptitude for endurance running that makes them so heavily recruited: the cartels “can put them in the desert and just say, ‘Go!'” Cartel operatives enlist impoverished Tarahumara Indians to make a grueling odyssey running drugs by foot across the border to the U.S.
